So hard to believe what anyone says about themselves nowadays! So instead of more about me from me, here's what a few musical colleagues have said about me:
"Hey Michael,
This is very exciting and I am happy for you! Your site is cool and very
personal. It is easy to get around in, -no surprise- and creates interest on
several levels to want to talk with you. I think there are a lot of players
in the world but not very many teachers that want to encourage folks in
their pursuit and love of music. Based on your lifelong love of music and all
that you bring to the table you will be an excellent instructor and bring
much value to your clients. I wish for you much success. Even if I was
still in San Diego I would say "come on in, the water is fine!" I believe
there is plenty of room for good teachers in any market and I think we need
to encourage each other. No one can know everything and be all things to all
people - so there are occasions to serve students by referring them to
another instructor in their area if that would help them. I have found that
philosophy to be very freeing and helpful to my students. With our ties to
San Diego I still get calls so keep me posted on your teaching for sure."
Friend and colleague Dean Prater, who moved to Texas after teaching music in
San Diego for many years, now lives in Texas and runs
Dove Creek Music.
"Fabulous!"
One-word review of a gig I performed at Brick By Brick as lead singer.
When someone as talented a singer as
Earl Thomas
describes you this way,
you definitely get a "warm fuzzy feeling"!
"You guys are great, we should do a gig together sometime!"
Another warm fuzzy, this one from friend and long-time local musical
compadre Bart Mendoza, quoted after hearing me sing an acoustic set
at Claire De Lune in North Park.
